Potty Training 2...

...today its the s*#@ts!

I'm not sure which I prefer to clean up. At least with the poop, its contained in the panties and not all over my carpets.

That sucks.... I feel for you.. If you want to hear my two sense here it goes... We tried to potty train Savannah like 6 months ago she was doing so well with her diapers anyways it pissed her off and she would be like "mom I am peeing as she is peeing on the floor" and laugh in my face because she knew what was going on.. I came to the conclusion that she wasn't ready. She knew what was going on and she didnt want anything to do with it.. Then we tried again like a few months ago and she was ready and it was so easy.. I know kids are different but thats what worked for us.. NO fun good luck..

LOL... yeah... you're right, it's both. But, I think every kid has to do that to "get it". For Corbin we tried several approaches at different times like movies, books, songs about peeing from the library.

Then we went to pull-ups.com and got sticker charts for every successful attempt... to earn a toy at Walmart after like 5 good attempts. Picked out some flashy undies.... got jelly beans, suckers, cheerios in the toilet, etc. Finally he just got it one day and we think it was putting pennies in a golf piggie bank Jeff has. He loved getting $$$- go figure, modern kid, $$ talks.

I really think it's first about understanding (we drink- we pee, we eat- we poop...even showing corn in the stool, etc. gross, but it makes sense to them).

Then it's about feeling it (clues like tooting, burning, etc.)

Then it's all about timing and motivation. If Chloe is ready, she'll learn it quick, if not you'll have more s*#$ty days ahead. So stop and try again later but don't get upset because then she'll be afraid to try. As long as she understands and you have the right amount of praise, and the right bribe she'll get it.

In the meantime invest in febreeze and collect the carpet-cleaning coupons. :)

I feel for you!! I have thrown away my fair share of poopy underwear because I didn't want to clean it off. we started about octoberish....and then in January..he just did it and never made a mess again. I finally gave up on the pull-ups and just put him in underwear. Some people do the....give them something to drink constantly...run to the bathroom every hour. I tried it for 2 days. he peed every time AFTER I took him to the bathroom.

GOOD LUCK!!
